Terms of Service
Effective June 9, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Heed for using the app. By creating an account or using Heed, you agree to them. We have kept them plain.
What Heed is
Heed is a reading tool. You paste a work message and say who sent it, and Heed returns a pattern name, a plain-language meaning, and three reply scripts in a warm, neutral, and firm tone. To do this, the message you submit is sent to a third-party AI service that generates the read.
What Heed is not
Heed is not advice. It is not therapy, mental health treatment, legal advice, or HR guidance, and using it does not create a professional or advisory relationship of any kind. Heed cannot read minds and is not a substitute for talking to a licensed professional, your HR department, or an attorney. If you are dealing with a serious situation at work or in your life, please bring in the right professional. If you are in crisis in the United States, you can reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
It can be wrong
Heed works by pattern-matching language, not by knowing what anyone actually meant. The reads and reply scripts are generated by AI and can be incomplete, mistaken, or simply off. Heed may misjudge tone, sarcasm, context, or culture. Treat every read as one perspective to weigh, not as the truth about a person or the right move to make. You decide what to do, and you are responsible for what you send and how you act.
Your account
Heed requires an account, created through Apple, Google, or email sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity under it. You must be 18 or older to use Heed.
Acceptable use
Use Heed for your own personal use, on messages you have actually received. You agree not to:
- paste content that is illegal, or that involves minors, threats, or harm;
- use Heed to harass, stalk, surveil, or harm anyone;
- submit other people's private information in a way that violates their rights or the law;
- resell, scrape, reverse-engineer, or try to bypass or break the app or its limits;
- use Heed in any way that breaks the law or these terms.
You keep ownership of the message text you paste in. The app, its design, its prompts, and the heed name and brand belong to Heed.
Subscriptions, free reads, and auto-renew
Heed starts you with a few free reads. After that, continued use requires a subscription. The plans are $3.99 per week or $29.99 per year. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play at confirmation of purchase, and they auto-renew at the same price until you cancel. Your account is charged for renewal within the window the app store sets before each period ends.
You manage your subscription, turn off auto-renew, and request refunds through your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us directly. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period unless the app store grants it.
Disclaimer of warranties
Heed is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that Heed will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any read will be correct or suitable for your situation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Heed is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost income, lost opportunities, damaged relationships, workplace outcomes, or decisions you made based on a read. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Heed is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Your data
How we handle your data, including the message you submit and what stays on your phone, is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Heed you agree to it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a meaningful change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. If you keep using Heed after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Heed operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Heed is focused on users in the United States.
