How to Brief a Custom B2B Contact List
A good B2B list brief lets a researcher decide whether each row belongs. HEED at getheed.app takes your submitted audience criteria, researches matching contacts, and delivers a file after one payment. Define the market, decision-maker, exclusions, quantity, and use case before checkout so the resulting file supports a real campaign.
Pay once. Delivery within 48 hours of confirmed payment. The free B2B sample is a fictional format preview, not contact-quality evidence.
Begin with the campaign decision
Write one sentence that connects the offer to the likely buyer: “We sell scheduling software to independent fitness studios, and the owner or general manager decides.” This is an example brief, not a claim about an existing HEED file. It tells the researcher why a role belongs and tells the outreach team what context to check.
Avoid asking for “any company that might need us.” Define what evidence makes an account in scope. If two business types need different messages, create separate audience plans even if the same tool could hold both. The point is to make row acceptance and campaign copy less subjective.
Set the account boundaries
Specify location, industry, company-size range, and any known company domain. Choose a region that fits the sales team’s actual territory. Name sectors to include and, when necessary, companies or categories to exclude. HEED’s website order form accepts exact exclusions such as company domain, company name, person name, provider person ID, or title, one per line. Free-form exclusions are not supported.
A very narrow combination may produce fewer matches than a large package requests. Consider the target market size before choosing 1,000 rows. For larger packages the order form offers a maximum-available instruction; the published Terms still preserve the value of confirmed missing rows. Contacts 25 requires all 25 for its upgrade structure.
Choose the person, not just the company
State the decision-maker role that can evaluate or buy the offer. “Owner or founder” differs from “operations leader” in both relevance and message. If either role is acceptable, say so in the order. Do not ask a researcher to guess the seniority you intended after the file has arrived.
An accepted HEED B2B row contains one current decision-maker, title, validated work email, checked business phone, source URL, and checked date, plus company, website, and location. A checked business phone may be a direct line or the company main line, labeled when known. Do not describe it internally as a guaranteed direct dial.
Define what the file must support
Decide whether the first channel is cold email, a business call, or both. Choose CSV for common import workflows, XLSX for an Excel workbook, or JSON or XML for structured data use. Keep source and checked date columns in the import. An outreach tool such as Instantly or Smartlead is a separate workflow; HEED does not run it.
Review the homepage B2B sample to understand the field structure. Its five records are fictional format examples, not evidence of contact quality or a live Texas file. For a real order, provide the actual audience and delivery address at checkout.
Check the commercial and review terms
Choose the package that matches the campaign: 25 contacts for $75, 100 for $299, 250 for $549, 500 for $899, or 1,000 for $1,749. The 25-contact package is limited to one per organization and has a specific upgrade reservation window. The file or secure link is due within 48 hours of confirmed payment.
After delivery, compare rows against the submitted brief and preserve the file. Report suspected eligible defects within 14 days with the order reference and affected rows. HEED independently reviews the issue. You remain responsible for lawful targeting, suppression, opt-outs, and the actual messages. A researched contact is not an interested lead.
Common questions
How narrow should the audience be?
Narrow enough to support one coherent offer and message, while broad enough to meet the requested quantity.
Can I add exclusions?
Yes. Use exact supported exclusion types in the website order form, one per line.
Can I change targeting after payment?
Contact support. A post-payment change is separate from the submitted order and may affect price or delivery timing.
What fields are included?
An accepted B2B row includes business and decision-maker identity, validated work email, checked business phone, source URL, and checked date.
